How to use

Cat Eye Dip Powder

Follow the regular dip powder steps. The only difference: use the Activator Dropper and Magnetic Stand to create the cat eye effect after your second dip.

We recommend practicing on a color swatch before applying to your nails.

Our tip — set up before you start

Fully pump your Activator Dropper so it is ready to dispense immediately. Place your Magnetic Stand within arm's reach. Open your Cat Eye powder jar and fully stir the powder. Have your Base Coat open and ready. When everything is set up and within reach, you will maximize the time you have to create the cat eye effect.

Before you start

Grab your Base Coat (#2) and Activator Dropper (#3). Complete your regular nail prep — file, shape, and apply Primer (#1).

02

Check your dropper and stir your powder

Make sure the Activator dropper draws liquid cleanly. Fully stir your Cat Eye powder before use.

03

Apply base coat

Apply Base Coat (#2) evenly over your prepped nail. We recommend practicing the full process on a color swatch before applying to your nails.

04

Dip into cat eye powder

Dip your nail into the Cat Eye powder jar at a 45° angle. Tap off the excess. This is the same as your regular dip powder process.

05

Ensure thin and even layers

Make sure each layer of dip liquid and powder is thin and even. If you see bare spots, repeat Steps 3–4.

06

Base coat and dip again

Apply a second layer of Base Coat (#2), then dip into the powder once more for full opacity.

Place nail on magnetic stand

Hold the Magnetic Stand and slide your nail into the U-shaped groove. A faint cat eye line will begin to appear.

For other fingers that are harder to hold, lay the magnet flat on the table and rest your finger on top.

08

Apply activator with dropper

Without moving the magnet, use the Activator Dropper (#3) to apply liquid over the nail. The cat eye effect will become much more defined.

09

The cat eye effect appears

Continue holding the magnet in place. You will see the cat eye pattern becoming more visible as the activator reacts with the magnetic powder.

Hold still — at least 10 seconds

Do not move the magnet or your finger. Keep everything in position for at least 10 seconds while the activator cures and locks the magnetic pattern in place.

11

File and shape

Once fully cured, file and buff the surface if needed. If the surface is already smooth, skip this step. Same as your regular dip powder process.

12

Apply top coat

Apply Top Coat (#4) to seal and protect your finish. Same as your regular dip powder process.

Good to know

Practice on a color swatch first. We recommend trying any cat eye effect on a color swatch before applying to your nails.

Cat eye dip powder is still dip powder. Everything you already know about dip powder — application, removal, maintenance — still applies. The only new element is the magnetic step.

About the magnetic stand. The included magnet is designed to help you get started with the classic cat eye line. But it is not limited to one effect — try positioning your nail against the two side edges to create light bands, circular patterns, or even a French tip look.

You can use any magnet. Our product does not limit you to the included stand. However, keep in mind that this is an air-dry system — you have roughly 10 seconds between applying activator and the powder setting. That is why we recommend mastering the basic technique with our magnet first, then experimenting with other magnets and advanced designs once you are comfortable with the timing.
